Accessibility
How we try to make this website usable by everyone, and how to tell us when we fall short.
What we aim for
We want this website to be usable by as many people as possible, including anyone using a screen reader, keyboard navigation, or a phone with the text size turned up. We work towards the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA.
What we have done
- Every page can be used with a keyboard alone, and a “skip to content” link comes first on each page.
- Text and background colours were chosen to stay readable, and the layout reflows down to a narrow phone screen without sideways scrolling.
- Photographs carry text descriptions, and forms have labels that screen readers announce.
- Movement is kept to a minimum, and animation is switched off for anyone whose device asks for reduced motion.
Where we know we fall short
- Documents uploaded to the downloads page — particularly scanned PDFs — may not be readable by a screen reader. Ask us and we will supply the content another way.
- The map on the contact page is provided by Google and we do not control its accessibility. The address is written out in text beside it.
Tell us
If you cannot use part of this website, please tell the secretariat or call +603-5524 4619. Say which page and what happened, and we will fix it or get you the information another way.
This statement should be reviewed once the site is live and tested with real assistive technology.
